Life Science ranked in the world's top 100

Life Sciences at the University of Exeter has been ranked in the world’s top 100 for the second year running by an influential international league table.

The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2014 /15 ranked Life Sciences at the University of Exeter 98th, acknowledging its status as being among the very best of its kind globally.

THE rankings are the only university performance tables to judge world class universities across all of their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

It employs 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available, which are trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.

Professor Dan Charman, Dean of the College of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Exeter, welcomed the latest rankings.

He said: “We are delighted that our outstanding achievements in research and teaching have been recognised in the latest Times Higher Education world rankings.

“Everyone associated with Life and Environmental Sciences here at the University of Exeter has played an integral part in this achievement, and it is testament to the continued hard work and dedication, displayed on a daily basis, that we have secured a top 100 ranking for the second year running.

“This success reflects their determination to make this a truly inspirational place to work and study.”
